How to make an appointment
During recent times, the way in which appointments can be booked has altered greatly.
After listening to patient feedback, the following are ways in which you can arrange an appointment:
Doctor

Routine, on the day appointments - to book a same day routine appointment please call the surgery at 8.15am. The lines do get very busy but your call will be answered in order and you will be assigned a doctor to contact you should appointments for that day remain available. Unfortunately, demand is significant at present but we will do our best to support you in any way possible.

Urgent, on the day appointments - these are for urgent matters only. A vast majority of these appointments will be held, face to face in the surgery. Due to the nature of the consultations, we will give an estimate of the time for the appointment. Please arrive for the time allocated but be patient if any of the previous appointments have overrun due to the conditions being treated.

Pre-bookable - we have now set aside a number of appointments every day with each of the doctors which can be booked up to 1 month in advance via The NHS Wales App. Please see the section within this website for information on how to register for this service.
Nurses
Our nursing staff offer the following services at Clifton surgery, these appointments need to be booked in advance.

Please be aware we now have a Height, weight and Blood pressure machine in reception that you can use at any time during our opening hours, you do not require an appointment to use this. The machine will give you a slip with the information collected please write your name and date of birth at the top and this will be looked at by our nurses and inputted into the system.
Phlebotomy Clinic
We have a phlebotomist who attends the surgery every Tuesday and Thursday morning to do blood tests for our patients, if the doctor has requested you to have a blood test please call the surgery to book these in advance.
Smoking Cessation Clinic
We have a smoking counsellor who attends the surgery every Wednesday morning, please contact the surgery if you would like to consider attending this clinic we will pass on your details on and they will be in contact to book you in.
Midwife Clinic
We have a midwife attend the surgery every Thursday all day and Friday afternoon, these are appointments booked in advance by the midwife herself.
